Finca Sobreño Ildefonso, chosen best wine of Toro 2022
The wine from Bodegas Sobreño has been recognised in the latest edition of the competition that chooses the best wines in Spain from among more than 3,000 samples.

Best Toro wine 2022 for Finca Sobreño Ildefonso 2016, with this important recognition Bodegas Sobreño culminates the year. The XIX edition of the Akatavino Awards thus recognises the quality of the Toro winery's wine in the last edition of the contest held in Malaga in December.
The jury of the Civas Competition and the tasting committee of the Akatavino Wine Guide, made up of sommeliers, have made public their selection of the best wines in Spain after tasting more than 3,000 samples from 1,000 wineries. Only the wineries with wines above 90 points have received a direct nomination to participate in the IV CIVAS 2021 Competition. In addition, the competition stands out for being the only competition held in Spain with participation exclusively for wines and wineries that the organisation itself invites by means of an express nomination.
Finca Sobreño Ildefonso, a powerful and elegant wine with international accolades
Finca Sobreño Ildefonso is a powerful, flavoursome, elegant, complex and mineral wine made from a careful selection of grapes, with manual punch-downs three times a day before ageing in new French oak barrels for 18 months and 12 months in bottles. Among other awards, it has received excellent scores such as the 92 points awarded by the critic James Suckling, or the 91 points of the Peñín Guide, as well as the Gold medal of the Tempranillo World Cup.
All Bodegas Sobreño wines are made from the highly appreciated Tinta de Toro grape variety, which makes Finca Sobreño red wines, clean, bright and very balanced, with intense colour, body and structure. The Toro winery has 80 hectares of its own vineyards and takes great care over the entire vegetative cycle of the vines to obtain the best grapes, which are then selected in search of the characteristics that stand out in each of its wines: Finca Sobreño Roble, Finca Sobreño Ecológico, Finca Sobreño Crianza, Finca Sobreño Reserva and Finca Sobreño Ildefonso.
Its commitment to the environment and quality, always maintaining the tradition of grape growing and adapting to new technologies, have made Bodegas Sobreño one of the most recognised brands in Toro, exporting 75% of its wines to 25 countries.
